The Antiquities' Wellington Inn is a beautifully restored historic inn in Traverse City, offering a charming and convenient base for exploring the area. Guests consistently praise the hosts, Barb and Hank, and the property’s location near downtown shops and restaurants, alongside the lake, while also highlighting the delicious breakfasts and well-appointed rooms. It’s a popular choice for travelers seeking a memorable and historic experience.
I liked this property a lot. We stayed in the Art Deco room, which is the 2 bedroom, 2 Bath apartment in the guest house that adjoins the mansion. The location is very good—it’s in an old neighborhood of beautiful homes and it’s also a short walk to Front Street, which is where all the restaurants, shops and bars are. Also, the place has been perfectly rehabbed and very well decorated, and the kitchen was well equipped. We would stay here again for sure.
We stayed with Barb and Hank at their beautiful inn for three nights with a group of friends. The location was great, rooms were beautiful and Barb and her staff were exceptional. We had all the rooms in the inn booked and Barb allowed us to have the third floor ballroom with a small but fully appointed kitchen as our gathering space for evenings before and after dinner. During our stay one member of our group had to go to the emergency room and was admitted for two nights. Barb and Hank were very helpful in allowing that couple to extend their stay because of this unexpected situation. I would highly recommend the Wellington Inn for a stay in Traverse City.
We had a lovely stay at Wellington Inn. Barb and Hank were lovely hosts sharing tips about where to eat and what to see. Our room included a small balcony and was absolutely beautiful. We enjoyed breakfast every morning with other guests. Can't beat the location, we walked to town multiple times during our stay.
The Wellington Inn was the perfect way to experience Traverse City. Nestled in a location that is easily walkable to downtown shops and restaurants, and the bay, but surrounded by manicured historic homes make the Wellington Inn the perfect blend of convenience and well appointed charm. Barb and Hank have thought of every detail and make guests feel at home in this historically preserved gem. Our experience and the breakfast will have us looking for excuses to come back and visit again.
My wife and I stayed at the Wellington Inn for our anniversary on our way to Mackinac Island. The Wellington Inn is very well located for walking downtown and along the lake shore. Barb and Hank have done such a wonderful job keeping that house in such great and well-appointed condition which is no easy feat for a house that old. Our room was great. We enjoyed our breakfast and met some other very nice guests. We cannot recommend the Wellington Inn enough!
We had a wonderful time in Traverse City at Wellington Inn and Red Ginger earlier this week. Barb and Hank/Wellington Inn were their typical hospitable selves and Barb’s breakfast is always amazing. Over breakfast we met new friends Loretta and Jerry from NJ and were amazed that we’ve traveled to many of the same places. Dinner at Red Ginger, a short walk away, was simply amazing. Oana worked to seat us without reservations and Randy kept the selections coming (his choice) until we were full as we weren’t knowledgeable about the cuisine. Everything Randy delivered to our table was presented well, tasted fantastic and was simply amazing. If you’re planning a trip to Traverse City, please consider supporting either or both small businesses. You will be glad you did. Until next time……….
Barb and Hank know how to host, that's for SURE! The Wellington Inn is a beautiful, historic icon in the heart of Traverse City but in a quaint suburban neighborhood. Everything is neat and clean, the rooms are beautifully decorated and the house is kept up so well, which can't be easy with such a large estate. The breakfast was awesome and Barb and Hank were so polite and pleasant. Such an impressive place to stay. Don't miss out! Reserve a room and indulge in the history!
