Guests praise the Alexandra Inn for its stunning bay views, prime beachfront location, and exceptional service, with many highlighting the rooftop bar and restaurant. However, there is a significant discrepancy regarding noise; while some guests on lower floors find it peaceful, those staying on the 4th floor report extreme noise disturbance from the restaurant above.
I stayed here during a conference in September. The hotel was right off the beach! Beautiful atmosphere and the rooms were phenomenal. The service from staff especially Jennifer H. was exemplary. I will be staying here again.
Nice hotel. The rooftop bar/restaurant is a must! We only stayed one night but it was quiet and the beds were very comfortable. Very close to downtown Traverse City.
A small group of us enjoyed drinks and dinner at the top of Blush Terrace on a beautiful, sunny day. Our server, Tre, was wonderful, and took such excellent care of us. The food was delightful, diverse, and the view of the bay was sublime. Thank you so much!
My stay at the Alexandra Inn was deeply disappointing and I would not recommend it (especially considering their crazy expensive summer rates). If you’re assigned a room on the 4th floor, be prepared for a nightmare. The restaurant located one floor above creates an unbearable racket, sounding like a stampede late into the night and starting again early in the morning. It was impossible to get a decent night’s sleep. When I brought this issue to the hotel staff’s attention, their response was dismissive, simply stating, “It will quiet down in a bit.” With the exception of the young gentleman who checked me in on the first night, who was polite and professional, the service was far from friendly or welcoming. The staff seemed indifferent and unconcerned about guest satisfaction. The only positives were the hotel’s good location in Traverse City and the fact that the room was spotlessly clean and the property well-maintained. However, these small upsides don’t justify the cost (over $900 per room for a 2 night weekend stay and we have 2 rooms, so $1,800 for no one in our group to sleep is outrageous). For the price, there are far better options available in the area. I would never stay at the Alexandra Inn again and strongly advise others to look elsewhere for a more pleasant and restful experience.
A gem of a hotel. Very elegant rooms and common areas. Immaculate and comfortable. You can’t help ur to love the setting and decor. Beautiful beach view. Restaurant on rooftop was wonderful!
My husband & I enjoyed the serenity of this bayside inn and recommend it to anyone seeking the quiet side of Traverse City, Michigan. Decorated in soothing tones, with a comfortable bed and pillows, and approachable by auto or plane. Staff is friendly, rooftop bar is popular and there’s much to do, eat and see in the city & on the Bay!
Staff was amazing, very clean well laid out hotel. Comfy beds and we loved the under bed lights since my husband is an early riser and didn't need to turn on the lamps to get around risking waking the rest of us. The game room was a nice touch as well as the evening chocolate chip cookies offered in the lobby. My kids devoured them. lol. Overall excellent experience!
Just finished a 4 night stay at The Alexandra Inn. It's just an awesome place. Nice beachfront WITH AMAZING SUNSET VIEWS. We had a room on the 4th floor facing the water, and it was well worth it. Really liked the rooftop bar and restaurant. Great place to catch a drink and enjoy the view of the water. We did not eat here, but saw some of the food and it looked really good. Fresh cookies at 7pm every night is a sweet touch. The staff was so kind and nice!!!
We had a lovely stay at Alexandra Inn! The service was truly outstanding—warm, personal, and full of care. Every interaction made us feel welcome and at home. The inn itself is full of simple charm, with beautifully maintained spaces and a peaceful atmosphere. We didn’t stay in a lake view room, but would definitely recommend it for future guests—the view from the rooftop is stunning, and waking up to that would be a treat! We stayed in an accessible room, which was spacious and thoughtfully designed. However, the open shower setup was a bit tricky with small children—if traveling with kids, a standard room might be a better fit. One of our favorite touches? Fresh cookies at 7pm every evening—a small but delightful ritual we all looked forward to! The rooftop is a highlight, offering gorgeous views and a wonderful breakfast in the morning. A perfect piece of the beach and a great base for exploring Traverse City. Highly recommended
