10 months agoThis is a favorite of ours! Beautiful grounds, great location between Traverse city and Suttons bay, a wonderful suite we stay in that is on the first floor. Also, it's just like home from the demeanor of the Inn Keeper to access to all areas including the library and pub, with plush leather seating and decor reminiscent of a classic fox hunting lodge. Breakfasts are special and delicious. Wine tasting room next door, grapes growing alongside, view of the horse pasture and great walking trails. What more could you want??!

12 months agoMy husband and I stayed here for three night and were in the larger room above the kitchen. Everything was nice and comfortable. We had a complimentary bottle of wine, however, the label had a different couples name on it. There are chefs preparing breakfast in a commercial kitchen. This is where things were uneven. The wait time for being served was long. Every day was a different chef. The dishes weren't traditional. One day was poached eggs with short ribs. It was too rich for me to finish.

about 1 year agoMy husband and I celebrated our recent wedding with a long weekend at Black Star and we were very impressed. Sara and David were such lovely, accommodating hosts and breakfast/hospitality hours were a real treat. If you need a special place to stay in the area, look no further. We will absolutely be back.

about 1 year agoThe Inn at Black Star Farms was a great choice for a place to spend some days up in the Traverse City area! The staff were incredibly helpful and personable, the rooms are great, and the views are worth everything. The best part about the Inn really is the staff though. They are friendly and professional and greeted us by name making you feel more like you're staying with friends than just being another customer to come through their doors. We will definitely be staying here again.

about 1 year agoGreat place to explore the area from. Nice rooms, good beds, great interiors, comfortable bathrooms, breakfast was different each day and great, staff was super nice and helpful. The wine and social hour was good. Trails were fun to walk. Very close to the Leelanau Trail. EV charging was essential to allow to explore each day as charging infrastructure is very limited in the area.
