Chateau Chantal is a popular winery in Traverse City known for its beautiful views, welcoming staff, and delicious wines. Guests consistently highlight the pleasant atmosphere and excellent wine tastings, particularly the wine dinners. However, some negative experiences have been reported concerning service quality and food.
This winery was amazing. Welcoming staff and beautiful views. The wines were great and lovely shop. They have a bed and breakfast that was highly recommended which we look forward to stay in on our next visit. Totally recommend visiting them.
I came here with my husband and two sons. My husband and I wanted to check out their wine tasting room. We were greeted and welcomed right away. This made us feel so much better after a previous visit to a winery that didn't treat us with great service. We opted to sit inside because it was drizzling outside. We went outside to one of the patios after we finished up. We saw an employee wipe down a table for another party. We were impressed how accommodating and friendly the staff was. Thanks for making this winery a top destination in Traverse City and will recommend to all!
We came for a very special day, our friends bachelorette. The server, Bill was incredibly rude and did not greet us with kindness. He was also abrasive and did not provide great service. I also overheard him having an attitude with another group. We eventually got moved over to the server, Vee and she was so nice and helped all of us out.
Spent this past weekend at the Chateau Chantel Bed and Breakfast. It is a beautiful location with great views, our room was wonderful (Renoir suite), the breakfast both days was fabulous. It is situated on the Mission Peninsula a short distance from ten other wineries, but make sure to spend plenty of time at Chateau Chantel's own tasting room (you each get a free flight if staying there).
I’ve been here a couple times, and it’s always pleasant. $15 for a wine tasting of 3 wines. The wine is good quality and the staff is very welcoming and helpful, with good knowledge of the wines they provide. The balcony is beautiful and overlooks the vineyard, if you go when it’s nice out I highly recommend hanging out around there.
Since Traverse City is famous for its cherry harvest in the fall and winter ???, this season brings out all kinds of cherry wines! The winery is super popular for tastings, and you can try three wines for just $10 ?? Personally, I loved the cherry sparkling wine and the cherry beer — both were delicious and surprisingly refreshing ???
We didn’t stay at this place but I would love to someday. We visited this place in October and we were able to see the beautiful trees and their colorful changes. Chantal winery had plenty of spaces to enjoy their wines and we took advantage of being near a fire pit.
This winery was one of a handful I visited on a trip from Ohio. It was a pleasant midweek August evening with a moderate crowd. My wine experience is moderate to advanced, so I selected a wine flight. The pours were substantial enough that I was able to determine if bottles were coming home with me; not all Michigan wineries had such a privilege. I brought home the 2021 Malbec Tango, and the 2022 Proprietor's Trio. Fantastic!
Great setting, wine decent food not good at all we got a flight of red a flight of white and a "local bread". The wines were okay, nothing special and the bread came out still frozen in the middle. All in all for over $50 with a tip average at best.
We did a trip to Traverse City for a birthday and found Chateau Chantal based on the ratings and overall reviews for the birthday dinner. We had an amazing experience with the tour and wine pairing meal. The tour guide and host for the dinner was Bill, and he has worked for the winery for over 20 years! He, and the whole staff, were very friendly and extremely knowledgeable. The meal was top notch as well. The chef prepared 6 courses with a wine pairing for each. From one course to the next we kept saying how great each dish was and the wine pairings were perfect compliments. The overall atmosphere and views from the winery were absolutely amazing as well! If you are in Traverse City, MI, and want a great experience I would recommend booking this tour and meal experience!
