Brio Beach Inn is a highly praised, family-run motel perfectly situated right on the beach, celebrated for its friendly staff, spacious decks, and excellent breakfast. While guests appreciate the excellent value and recent renovations, some mention noise pollution from nearby traffic due to the open-air motel design and wish for better on-site storage options.

Clean, relatively new rooms, though they are very small and ours had a slight cigarette smell. I booked this through Chase travel. I wish I had known beforehand that the style of the building is the classic two-level roadside motel with the room doors opening to the outdoors instead of an interior hallway. Because the door faces the road, I could hear every car, truck, and motorcycle drive by the building on the main road through Traverse City. I thought the rooms might face the bay, but that is not the case. There was no view of the water from our room, though it looks like others might have a better view. If you want to be by the beach, this might be a good spot. But I don't understand the price for what you get.

Stopped for a night because of the great price, stayed 3 more nights because of the fabulous place it is. Small Inn with clean and functional rooms with fridge, microwave, flat screen with Direct TV for service. Breakfast is great and plentiful with a bit of variety hot and cold. The staff…they’re all so friendly, helpful and ready with a helping hand. On my first night I was bedazzled by my first Aurora Borealis experience….which happened to be a chance of a lifetime kind of show. I’ve attached pics. The beach is steps from your room with a beautiful deck area above sand and lounge chairs on the sand for plenty of seating. 2 grills and seating for dinner as well. The beach is perfect for a swim…too cold now but I walked up to my knees and it’s all sand bottom and clear waters? Nothing fancy here but it doesn’t get better than this little gem??

Excellent location, sandy beach with crystal clear water. Short drive to Tart Trail, Leelanau Trail, and Sleeping Bear Heritage Bike Trail. Quiet rooms with comfy beds and luxury linens. Upscale continental breakfast. Patricia and Renee made our stay even more enjoyable with their friendliness and helpfulness. .

Perfect location for a summer location. Right on the beach and close to downtown. The staff were absolutely amazing and so accommodating. The property was very clean, and spotless. Rooms were comfortable and the AC worked great. The breakfast was better than expected. Can’t wait to go back and I highly recommend.

This is an amazing little place. The view is amazing The beach is great, and they offer firewood for a bonfire at night. My only issue was lack of storage in the rooms. A closet or dresser would have been welcomed. Really nice place otherwise.

Newly renovated rooms. Small but clean and a great price. On the lakefront and they have a small beach. We'd stay here again. Very nice people. The only suggestion is to improve the breakfast offerings. When we came down almost everything was gone. ?
