Guests praise the new, spacious, and clean rooms with great amenities like the outdoor heated hot tub and fitness center, though there are some complaints about loud room doors and the heavy reliance on unlabeled personnel during wellness checks.
Highly recommend this wonderful hotel ! Great location, wonderful service, super clean rooms , comfortable beds and every amenity you could think of ! There's an outdoor heated hot tub , a lobby bar , delicious breakfast , fitness center , spacious gathering areas , cool fire place, free cookies in the lobby every day , a convenience store and nearby attractions like the Great Wolf Lodge, skiing , tubing , boating, beaches, shopping , wineries , breweries, amazing views and so much more !!! It's fair to say that the Fairfield is your best Traverse City destination!
Clean, comfortable rooms. Good coffee and breakfast. Friendly and helpful staff. Nice, big lobby to hang out with friends. Outdoor hot tub was great!
I stayed at this hotel for 13 days on a work trip and midday through my trip I was having a lazy day because I was feeling like I had a virus. I received two bold knocks at the door about 10:30 -11. It was not housekeeping but I couldn’t understand what they said besides “they were doing a wellness check.” I opened after looking out the peep hole. The person not in a hotel uniform and I didn’t see a name tag was holding a colorful clipboard saying they were doing a wellness check “on us” to make sure “we” were doing okay. I said it’s just me and I’m fine and I shut my door. Later I went to leave the hotel for the day and I brought this up to the front desk lady telling her what happened and that it was disturbing. She seemed confused about what happened to me. As if she didn’t know this happened in her hotel. When asked, She confirmed they would have entered my room had I not opened my door even though I had a DND sign on my door. She asked if I wanted to talk to a manager and I said yes. Then she went back to get the manager. I heard her say, would you like to talk to this guest and I heard her explain it all to her. The front desk lady then came out and told me they have been looking for their luggage cart and she had several other BS reasons she gave me. The older aged front desk lady was nice about it, just confused with a lot of guesses provided it seemed. the housekeeping manager did not come out to talk to me! I told them I’ve never experienced anything like this before. It made me really uncomfortable and I asked them to stay out of my room. I have nothing to hide I just had the sign up because I didn’t want anyone in my space and around my stuff for my long stay. I also said it would not have been weird had a housekeeper knocked and asked if I needed anything since it had been a week without services and they could have done a “wellness check that way” but it was disturbing to me that a not identified or well identified person did this. Had it not been so much effort to find another hotel and pack and move for the last week in TC, I would have. Overall this hotel was really nice. The room, bathroom, fridge, microwave, closet and the nice touch 4 coat hooks on the wall made this hotel really nice. They had a great breakfast (and Karen? Was a nice morning welcome and chat each morning at breakfast) but this experience with this weird situation at my door and then when I brought it up to the front desk was not comforting for a single female.
Stayed at the hotel few weeks back. Started smelling a strong burning smell early in the night (around 8pm), which not only filled the room, but also permeated the entire corridor. Unfortunately there was only person on duty managing the entire hotel. The poor girl had to manage the bar, constant check-ins, and request from guests such as extra pillows. After waiting 20+ mins for my turn, was told that nothing could be done and we just had to wait it out. Had to sleep with the nauseating smell the entire night.
Awesome experience all around. Clean rooms, updated amenities, friendly staff! Karm in particular was fantastic. She was super friendly and was running the morning breakfast buffet flawlessly. Will definitely be back next time I'm in town.
New in November 2024, Marriott undid themselves on layout and comfort. We stay Marriot 90% of the time and this (though understandably new) was one of the nicest I have stayed. Kudos on staff, Sydney was sweet as we checked in after 10pm. Thanks for the stay ?
Loved our 3 day stay here. Staff has been more than pleasant, hotel is nice and quiet, also breakfast bacon is the bomb.com! The curtains in the rooms are so perfect and adjustable for those who want to take a nap during the day. And definitely felt very relaxed in the hot tub outside. The rooms felt new and smelt new, which I really enjoyed. However the only downside is that anll the doors in this building are so heavy and Super loud when they close. overall, this stay has been great and I’ll probably always book with them when I come back to traverse city!
We had a pleasant stay at this hotel. The rooms are nice, clean, and feel new, making for a comfortable experience. Breakfast was a good start to the day with a decent selection, and there are plenty of food options nearby if you’re looking to eat out. One of the great perks is the free EV charging, which is really appreciated. However, it’s frustrating to see gas vehicles parked in those spots even when the rest of the parking lot is mostly empty. It would really help to have clear signage indicating that those spots are reserved for electric vehicles only. Overall, a good stay — just hoping they address the EV parking issue soon!
It’s a nice hotel. We stayed here for 2 nights and it was good just missing a few things that would make me choose somewhere else next time. There is no pool only a hot tub outside, the rooms have different side tables next to the bed and only one side has plugs and usb ports, the doors all slam shut and are hard to close including the bathroom and main room door is loud, rooms were clean but on the smaller side. The area is nothing special and it’s hard to find from barely any signage. Breakfast was decent and service from employees was great, have no complaints about the customer service/hospitality. It’s a good last minute hotel if there’s no other options in the area for the cost.
