The Courtyard by Marriott Traverse City offers a generally positive experience with friendly staff and a convenient location near downtown, though some recent reviews highlight inconsistencies in housekeeping and pillow quality. Renovations are underway, adding a fresh feel to the property.
Great place to stay for a night. Booked 2 rooms ajoined. Something happened between the time i booked and when we arrived. They gave us a upgrade. Brandon at the front desk was amazing. My kids were being needy.... my only complaint is the late check in and early check out. The staff and rooms were great!
Overall a good stay. Can’t beat being 15 mins from downtown but without the downtown prices. The Pros: -Incredibly friendly staff! Everyone we spoke with was, at minimum, polite, and most went above and beyond. -Great location -Hotel and room were clean—like, smelled fresh when we opened the hotel room door clean -Cafe offered quick service in the morning The Cons: -Inconsistent housekeeping. We had our DND door hanger up the first day housekeeping was supposed to come by, were left a slip that said they’d be back the next day; they were not. We asked a staff member for some fresh towels and he was helpful and emptied trash, cleaned the shower, etc, but we had to hunt someone down again to request a change of sheets. -The worst pillows I have ever slept on. Truly. We requested three additional pillows (knowing how hotel pillows can be) and would have needed even more to sleep comfortably. They were mostly flat and if they weren’t flat, they were lumpy. Overall a worthwhile stay, and I would definitely book again, but I’d bring my own pillows.
Stayed here for my brothers wedding. Hotel was quite busy, but surprisingly wasn't noisy. The front desk associates were fantastic and lovely to speak to Reni (I believe) was the sweetest out of them all. He was very accommodating and was very attentive. The lobby area had plenty of seating and tables. Outside back patio was pleasant. However, did not utilized the pool. The room was spacious and clean. This was actually the cleanest hotel I've ever stay at! Usually have complications with things not being wiped down and hair being everywhere. When I walked into my room it not only looked clean, but smelt clean, like down to the carpet cleaned! When I travel again I would love to stay here again!
Entire experience was good. Check in was seamless. Room was perfect and clean. It was quiet in our room which was glorious because I'm a light sleeper. We were told there were soccer teams there that night, but the parents must have been very good about keeping the kids from running around, which is usually the case with kids' sports teams. Our room faced the fire pit and I was thankful it was raining because otherwise people would have been out there and it would not have been quiet. It was a very good experience. I would stay here again.
Hotel claimed to be recently renovated, but they skipped the bathrooms. The room itself was nice, other than the bathroom, which was not the cleanest and emanated a musty smell. Most of the caulking had mildew on it and the floor around the toilet had visible stains. Not something I would expect for over $200 a night. Location was decent, quiet with several restaurants within walking distance and a small one one right in the lobby.
Ive stayed at Marriott properties for nearly 30 years on business and have well over 500 nights under my belt. This is definitely one of the best Courtyard Marriotts I’ve ever stayed at. The rooms are all new renovated and they have some great furniture layouts. The staff were above and beyond in terms of friendliness and helpfulness. Great spot – highly recommend for anyone passing into the area.
I saw reviews saying this hotel needed a face lift……..I’m happy to say that they are in the process of doing some renovations so it can be a little noisy right now . However , I love the work that is being done and I love walking into a building that smells new. The rooms are nice and I loved having a room with a balcony and shower. There is also a pull out bed couch in the room. The staff were friendly and nice except one housekeeper that was rude, not helpful and certainly not accommodating to me as a guest. Nonetheless , I still think this is a beautiful hotel with wonderful staff. It is located off of a busy highway but that didn’t bother me at all . I love that this hotel is conveniently located close to Walmart and other major stores, gas stations, Great Wolf Lodge, Sam’s Club and a shopping mall. I would definitely stay here again . I love this hotel and I love Traverse City.
