Crystal Mountain offers a winter wonderland experience with a focus on skiing and family activities, consistently praised for its friendly staff and comfortable lodging. Recent reviews highlight the resort’s efficient lift lines, helpful staff, and convenient amenities, though some guests note occasional concerns regarding pricing and pool chlorination.
Just got home from a stay feb 22-25. It was great. The facility is a little ski village that does not disappoint. I stayed with a total of 3 adults 1 child and 2 dogs. They are very dog friendly. The constant fresh snow was amazing, but that was the weather. Will be back.
Snow was great the weekend we were there. Pool seemed a bit over chlorinated. A really beautiful place to be in the wintertime. Friendly staff, it is starting to get pretty pricey to get a family of 4 there for a three day weekend.
Great resort! I’m a novice skier, and I was having trouble with my boots hurting after just walking in them. Louis saw me struggling and helped me right away by suggesting rear entry boots instead. He helped me exchange my boots and got me set up with the perfect rental pair! This made my time so much more enjoyable and painless! Thank you Louis!
One of the better resorts in northern Michigan. Lots of routes on the mountain of varying difficulty. Resort is clean and well kept. Lots of activities for families daily. Highly recommend!
December 23rd-26th visit. Ski. Lodging at the Inn. 2 adults. Phenomenal. Everything exceeded our expectations. Prices are not "tourists" prices. We WILL be planning a whole family visit. We chose to visit before Christmas. Prices everywhere increase dramatically the day after Christmas. We purchased 2 day lift tickets and 2 day ski rentals and that was cheaper. The chili: Very good here. At the Lodge and the Wild Tomato. The Lodge serves there's very hot (temperature) I personally preferred this. At Wild Tomato you must try their strawberry jam it is made in-house. The market: lots to offer. Raos soup. Blue cheese olives. Wine (even Caymus). Beer. Soaps. Ice cream. Great pricing, they do not hike the prices up terribly out of convenience. Thank you for not doing this. The Inn (lodging): WOW. We stayed in room 289 (The Fishtown). Heated bathroom floors. Heated towel rack! Wonderful color schemes. Make-up washcloths. Boot mat/tray outside of the room. Lots of cabinet space for winter gear. Comfortable bed. Im glad we opted for a smaller/standard room verses the king suite. Toiletries: The spa sells these. I liked that the shampoo, bodywash, and conditioner did not contain phenoxyethanol. However, the lotion did. Not a good ingredient to have in your brand. Staff: ALL had great hospitality. In 3 days we did not come across any awful encounters. Lifts: Absolutely no longer wants when we went. The longest line we stood in was 4 infron of us. Lots of lifts on site. Ski: we were beginners but by day 2 we felt like professionals... minus doing crazy jumps and backflips. Rentals were comfortable. When you Lodge with them you can valet your rentals. Ski to a YURT on the Northface (only open on select days). Hot cocoa inside. Our favorite trail was JTs trail. A good longer run. The outdoor hot tub: 30 degrees outside. My husband hates the cold weather but he was very happy and warm in there. The bathhouse was extremely warm. Absolutely awesome tgat you all even provide plastic bags to put your wet clothes in. A hairdryer as well. 9am-9pm daily. We did not have to leave for anything. There are retail stores for all needs to include your sports gear. We did find prices to be very fair and some were even cheaper than where we are at. Florida. At 30 degree weather my meijers snow pants for $40 with leggings were absolutely fine. The face cover is useful especially when night skiing. We did not use goggles. Our sunglasses were just fine. We do highly suggest getting the Northface traction booties slip-on shoes for walking about. We found these at marshalls for $30 verses REI selling them for $65. Super comfy. WARM. Versatile... as i did wear these with a Lilly Pulitzer dress for our fine dining one night. At The Thistle ? Igloos: reserve online for Wild Tomato and The Thistle. Cabins: super freaking cute but we never found out where you can go to reserve them. They are right infront of the slopes and the Inn
Didn't stay at the resort although I will in the future! Went on the chair lift and Alpine slide which are both Super fun and beautiful especially in the fall. Seemed very crowded but didn't feel overcrowded or annoying. Great Bloody Mary at the outdoor bar super atmosphere and really fun staff
We did the Alpine slide and the Fall scenic ski lift. $15/each Very cute area, a lot more to do but we only came for the scenic lift. Very friendly staff and beautiful views.
We stayed at wintergreen condo. It was clean and well stocked. For the price of the lodging, the resort does not offer too many amenities.
We love coming up to Crystal and staying in the condos. Plus we get to use the outdoor spa, indoor pool, plus other amenities. We had a 2 room 2 bath unit. Exceptional. Staff is always friendly. We come off season as I skied when I was younger. Love the resort. We found a Crystal gem feet from the deck of the condo. Someone sliced it off the Tee.
