The Gold Coast Inn offers a convenient and affordable stay in Traverse City, praised for its cleanliness, amenities, and easy communication with management. While some guests noted the smaller room size and a lack of a deadbolt on the door, overall the property provides a comfortable and well-equipped experience at a great value.
Don’t bother. Zero customer service, you’ll be dealing with robots and computers if you have an issue. Not to mention they aren’t even actually on the beach. Stay up the coast, you’ll find much nicer rooms and friendlier service. They’ve made traveling for my dad’s funeral even worse than it already was.
I had a great experience with Kasa! The rooms were modern and nice with everything you would need. Plenty of outlets, towels, soap, etc. They also gave me a lakeside room when I didn’t pay for that upgrade, which was a really nice surprise! I had some car troubles the day I was supposed to check out, and they were very accommodating to me. If you’re looking for a solid, no frills getaway, this is a great choice.
Loved our room! Very cozy for our fur baby. The 24/7 text service was very helpful and convenient. They were extremely responsive and fixed any issues promptly. Would recommend and would stay there again!
We were happy with our room. It was clean and neat when we arrived. The host was very attenative. The codes were sent on time for the doors. Considering the location, which was very close to the main road it was a quite stay. The view was very nice overlooking the water. Was surprised by the toiletries, normal size and you had what you needed. Snacks were a nice touch. The only suggestion would be that there was more coffee makers ...either in the common area or one in each room.
I had my doubts about this type of lodging (no staff present, etc) but the price was unbeatable. I ended up being very pleased with this property in Traverse City…the rooms are a little on the small side but still adequate and the “communal”area was vey attractive. Communication was excellent as well.
This was a perfect lodging selection. It had all the amenities of a nice hotel without the high costs that the surrounding options had in this location. The entire process was smooth and easy with amazing communication with Kasa. The main lobby was nice with a full kitchen area and plenty of room for a large gathering if needed. The second floor also had a large lounge area with a full size frig, kitchen table and chairs, couch, chairs and a TV. The inside of the unit was all updated and very clean. They also had the sink outside of the bathroom so people can shower or use the facilities separate from those needing to wash their hands or get ready in front of a mirror with the availability of a sink. Overall, I would give it a 10 out of 10 for price, location and what is included for the low cost.
It was different doing a virtual check-in, but everything went well they were quick on text messages throughout our stay. The hotel itself was immaculate. Good smell and super clean stress-free. Books, puzzles, and games in the lounge area. There was a grill on the back deck to be used. Plenty of coffee pods. It was nice having a lounge kitchen area on each floor. I most definitely look forward to staying there again when visiting Traverse City.
I’ll start with the positives. Earplugs are available in the lobby, the air unit was quiet, the bedding and mattress were comfortable, and all of the soaps were paraben- and sulfate-free. Now for the negatives. The bathroom smelled—a mix of cleaner, urine, and musty water damage. When I used the shower, I discovered the shower pan felt spongy, creaked, and had a large dip in it, suggesting water damage. The toilet also had a seat but no lid, which felt unsanitary and unfinished. On top of that, the bathroom didn’t have a vanity; the sink was located outside in the main room. While it appeared designed to be wheelchair accessible, I’m not sure it would actually accommodate a wheelchair rolling underneath. For anyone else, it was simply an awkward setup. The room had no luggage rack and only one bedside table. We ended up pulling the ironing board out of the closet and using it as both a luggage stand and a nightstand for charging a phone. The door to the room did not have a deadbolt or a safety latch—just a knob lock, which neither my husband nor I could get to work. There was a hair dryer, but it was one of those small wall-mounted styles—except it wasn’t mounted to the wall. I didn’t use it since I brought my own. We stayed in room 307. The hotel does have elevators, but the outdoor stairwells were closed “for construction.” If there had been a fire, that would have been concerning—I didn’t check if they were actually usable, but telling guests they’re closed seems like a safety hazard. We loved Traverse City—it was fun and beautiful—but I wouldn’t stay here again. It was fine for two nights, but if there had been a staffed front desk, I would have complained and requested a different room.
We stayed here for 10yr wedding anniversary. Rooms, and property were extremely clean. Check in was very easy, great view of the lake. Food and other attractions were very close some within walking distance. So no matter what the occasion is, I definitely suggest staying here, we will definitely be back.
