This resort generally receives positive feedback for its spectacular bay views and beach access, particularly during warmer months, though many recent guests criticize the property's cleanliness, outdated amenities, and poor maintenance. Furthermore, noise from neighboring floors and lack of staffing regarding the? (electricity) issue creates a major disturbance.
BYOB- Bring your own blanket. As they have none. The top covering on the bed was a thin gauze like sheet. Which would be fine if we weren't staying in February! Bed mattress are firm- eh for me ,I like soft mattress. Jacuzzi tub was fine ( I didn't use the jets, I don't like jetted ones). Furniture was nice and sturdy so if you're on the heavy side, it would work for you. Overall the room was clean and everything worked as it should. I would love to come back for the summer time and enjoy the beach and pool.
Most certainly won’t stay here again. Older property that needs a ton of updating. Baseboards are disgusting, shower head was worthless, shower was less than clean. Floors were dirty from the second we walked in. Bed was comfortable but rooms are cold and you’re given a very thin blanket and sheet. Walls and floors must be thin. If you’re a light sleeper, do not stay here. We were in room 117 & whoever was in the room above us made our stay miserable. Heavy heavy walking back and forth all night long. Not talking small trips to the bathroom and back to the bed, they fought Friday night, slamming doors, stomping back and forth. Saturday night consisted of the heavy walking back and forth, furniture moving and loudness from appx 9-3am. Smoking on the balcony… overall just rude people who clearly had no care for others who paid to stay here. No night person on duty so no one to even complain to. $346 for two night’s of no sleep, dealing with rude and inconsiderate people. So much for a relaxing, refreshing Vday getaway.
We had a great room and the winter prices are great. Downside, the drunk guy who backed over the handicap parking sign spit a snot rocket on our truck window...so I guess he didn't like our truck in the spot next to his. Other than that awesome stay and friendly staff. Plus side is the jet tubs in the rooms.
We came to vacation in the dead of winter but it was overall a great place. I bet it would be amazing in the summer. The rooms were a nice size with a kitchenette, private toilet room (although the floor to ceiling window to the parking lot was odd) and a balcony with a bay view. The tv setup wasnt that good but you don't go on vacation to watch tv. Overall it was a great beachside stay.
DO NOT BOOK. Location is the only thing they have going for them, the staff were unhelpful when the room next to us had people smoking pot all night, the rooms are old, dirty and all around BAD, we ended up getting put on the 3rd floor, no big deal right? WRONG, there is no elevator and it was -10 out the stairs weren't shoveled or salted and super slick, VERY dangerous. 0 stars, first and last time at this hotel. DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME.
Just on the edge of Traverse City, this property has AMAZING views of the bay! The rooms were clean, the front desk service (and the option to text!) was impeccable. I will stay here again.
I had a wonderful stay at Points North Hotel! The staff were incredibly friendly and accommodating, making me feel welcome from the moment I arrived. The rooms were spotless and well-maintained, providing a comfortable and relaxing environment. The location is perfect, conveniently close to local attractions while still feeling peaceful and private. And the views from the property are absolutely beautiful- Highly recommend for anyone looking for a clean, comfortable stay with amazing hospitality! I am looking forward to coming back to traverse City and staying here.
This place is filthy, the literal walls were dirty, we had to wear our shoes around the room because dirt and sand would stick to your feet, there are plenty of spiders to keep you company though. The shower curtain does not cover the full width of the shower, so even if you put a towel on the floor it will be soaked by the time you’re done. We stayed in early October, so I was expecting more than a thin blanket on top of the sheets for a hotel in northern Michigan, so prepare to have to sleep in a couple layers. Their office is also only open from 7:30am-10pm, so if you have a full day booked worth of stuff you’ll miss them completely to tell them how dirty the room is! I have to say I am shocked at this hotel having a 4.1 star rating on Google, as I’ve stayed in a lot of hotels and this is by far the worst I’ve experienced. Absolutely terrible waste of money, there are plenty of other places to stay that you won’t have to disinfect your belongings after. After reading the other reviews, it seems like the general manager always has excuses for people’s complaints too, which I would be inclined to believe if I didn’t experience this terrible place first hand.
This appeared to be a good deal through booking.com for $123. You get what you pay for! Our “balcony” was sitting next to an empty pool. Understand this due to time of year (early October). Room was filthy, cobwebs in lamp shades, long black hair in the bed, sandy floor. Grab and go breakfast. Keep driving, pay more and don’t bother stopping here. We were on the road for a week. This was the nastiest place we stayed.
Just stayed 2 nights, check in was easy but hiding deposit which we received back, room was clean but the balcony soffits were not clean and had spider webs etc. front side walk around the room were the same, could us some cleaning, however, the rooms were clean very well. As far as the people working in the desk, they did get what we needed, but they were very cold. A place could use some updating heater in the room, falling off the wall. The beach was spectacular. The views in the rooms were spectacular also!
