Ranch Rudolf offers a unique mix of rustic lodging, tubing on the Boardman River, and horseback riding experiences, praised for its charming atmosphere and beautiful natural setting. However, recent feedback points to inconsistencies in staffing, limited dining options, and potentially rough camping conditions.

We pulled in on our snowmobiles. Parking lot was full. One person running food and one bartender taking orders only from the bar, washing dishes and I'm pretty she was doing the cooking. The line to get a beer( limited can selection) was a 15 minute wait. The paper menu was conveniently placed on the bar with very limited choices such as basket food and bagged chips. If you were looking for hot food, a bowl of chili or a simple burger is your only option. In my opinion, adding waitstaff, dishwasher, some tap handles to draft beer ( not available) and better food would certainly be a game changer. Its a lovely place with so much more potential.

Ranch Rudolph is a cozy lodge feeling. Inside open fireplace. Good eats and drinks. Friendly service. A great place to stop at, hang with friends and recharge before heading back out onto the trails or rivers. I rode 120 miles round trip on my snowmobile to hang out with friends, that should give you an idea of how cool a place this is, that represents about 5 hours round trip of riding. As always, ladies I am told the rest rooms are decent and clean.

We spent the weekend at Ranch Rudolf for a retirement party and had such a great time! The staff was friendly and welcoming, and the food was delicious. The pool was perfect for relaxing, and the tubing down the river was an absolute highlight. Everything was well taken care of, and the whole atmosphere made for a fun and memorable weekend. Highly recommend for a getaway up north!

Rented a canoe only, we did not ride horses or stay there... Friendly, family ran ranch on a beautiful clear quick river. Get ready to dump... Those flat bottom aluminum canoes are super tippy! The water is REFRESHING. Awesome day on the Boardman River. The river trip is short so stop frequently and enjoy the views.

Update August 2025: Still my favourite place on earth. Like stepping back in time in all of the best ways. The land is so beautiful, the people are so kind and calming, and the buildings and decor are lovingly maintained but charming. Tubing is a blast and a great way to be out in nature. Original review: We went tubing along the Boardman River yesterday and I really fail to understand the negative reviews shared here. We all had a blast! The woman at the front desk was extremely kind and gracious towards us. She was even kind enough to show us all of the memorabilia from when Home Improvement shot on location at the ranch after my husband mentioned to her that I am a huge fan of the show. The gentleman that drove the shuttle to the jump in point for tubing was equally as friendly. We did not stay at the ranch (I wish!!) so I can't really speak on the lodging but the bits of the ranch that I saw looked clean, well maintained, and very charming. Tubing itself was such a one of a kind experience! Floating down the river surrounded by nature unspoiled by us humans was honestly such a treat. There were some rocky spots and some downed trees but nothing that we couldn't navigate away from, it just added to our adventure. I would definitely caution you not to bring anything with you whatsoever as we did lose a baseball cap and a pair of sunglasses to the river and couldn't get them back because the current was swift. My only regret is that we live so far away and won't be able to return anytime soon. Thank you to the fine folks at Ranch Rudolf for a wonderful afternoon!

My family and I just finished an hour horseback ride with Susie and she was absolutely amazing! She gets five stars! The horses were friendly and kept a nice, walking pace for us. The older woman that works the front desk is absolutely horrible. She was rude from the second we walked in and very snippy. She micromanages her staff and trail guides and was just not welcoming or pleasant to deal with. Aside from her, we had a great time and so happy to have had Susie as our guide.

Spent 3 days in campsite 21 over the weekend, and I came into this trip completely blind. My wife arranged our accommodations along with a good friend. While I can somewhat agree with some of the reviews of this place being dated or not meeting up to expectations I will say - compared to your "normal" glamping/camping this place is a hidden gem. Quite literally. The campsites (there are 25 total) may be up a sandy hill. However, they are shaded and very comfortable. They all have 30A and water with a dump station down next to their wood burner. The campground was never too loud even during the day, so at night, it was nice not to have to worry about some inebriated neighbor waking your 18-month-old with their shenanigans. The pool was very clean, and the creek was also a pleasant amenity. We packed all our food, so I can't comment on the restaurant. What truly won us over was the fact that our rambunctious 8 year old labaradooble dog decided it was a great idea to crawl out between the canvas on our hybrid camper and roam the campground while we were out one day. We received a call from the office that he was growling and barking at people. We were already on our way back, so upon our return, we found him and had him contained without incident. The fact that we didn't have a more serious matter on our hands in regards to this told us that the people camping here are understanding that things happen - and that you shouldn't go near a stranger's dog. He's mostly harmless unless you approach his humans or home. What dog isn't? 10/10 recommend for the camper who likes to disconnect and be out in nature. And also have a pool nearby.
