I was traveling with family and our dog . We stayed 2 nights during the Traverse City dog shows. The Hotel was just as pictured on the website . It was very cute and the rooms were extremely clean which was a nice change in some of the big name places ive stayed the rooms were not . The rooms were cozy and comfortable had nice little table with 2 chairs , small fridge, coffeemaker, hair dryer and other amenities that were very nice . I rated location a 4 star was a busy road and was close to the road that said the room was very quiet didn't hear the traffic. The beach and restaurants were just down the road a few minutes and many places to walk the dog and enjoy the area. I would definitely stay again.
Genuinely the best motel I've ever stayed at it felt very luxurious. The rooms are beautiful, quiet, and comfortable (fantastic shower too I must say). Everything is so thoughtfully put together and SO CLEAN. We were impressed down to the fixtures and other tiny details that I would never usually look at when I just need a place to stay. Had me laying on the floor trying to check the brand of the chair I was sitting on so I could buy one for myself. You can tell this family really cares about the guest experience. We had a wonderful two nights here and will be staying again if we are in TC.
This is a hidden gem in the heart of Traverse City. Absolutely adorable room and arguably the cleanest motel/hotel I've ever stayed at. Spotless. They are incredibly dog friendly - greeted my dog with treats, his own Yeti bowl, and bottled water. Very friendly at check in, and even allowed me to check in early. I hope to be back soon!
Such a quaint hidden gem! The rooms are adorably decorated, the beds plush, details around every turn made you feel as if you were in a swanky boutique hotel. (They even had nugget ice and Beekman toiletries) only minor quirk is the bathroom door had no lock. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay and will return.
Really enjoyed my stay at the Sierra. The owners are great, they did a really nice job decorating the rooms with tasteful decor. Very relaxing, beds were comfortable, very clean. And I was grateful that they were able to accommodate some special needs that I have. Good communication and would stay there again for sure.
Retro done right. The atmosphere here feels like a step back in time. It is all done tastefully though, not going too far. This is a classic motel with the doors to the rooms leading directly outside. The rooms are not large and are a little awkwardly shaped, making tv placement a little weird. However everything was very clean. The room I booked had 2 beds a small dinner table with 2 chairs. A refrigerator and coffee maker, along with a medium sized TV and 1 bedside table. The bathroom was also kinda small, but it did have a walk in shower with a shower head high enough for tall people. My only real issues was there is almost no storage. No dresser andbonly a small hanging rack. Also the lighting is a little dim. The plus are the beds are very comfy. It's Individually own, not a corporate monster. It's dog friendly. Plus the location is great. The service was super friendly. I've never checked in via text message before, but it worked. Overall my stay was wonderful! I give it a 5 star review. Would I return? Absolutely, and my doggie agrees. It hard to find a nice place to stay that's dog friendly and fairly priced.
I had a great 2 night stay at The Sierra. Service is excellent and friendly. The rooms are designed well with a cozy mid century vibe throughout. I stayed during a slower part of the season, but would gladly return, any time of year.
Loved the stay here! The rooms are simple yet SO cute! The attention to detail and decor as so fun and just a vintage vibe! They are also pet friendly which was perfect for my friend and both our dogs! We stayed 3 nights and had no complaints at all. Felt very safe too. The staff was also very friendly and accommodating leading up to our stay! Will definitely stay here again!
Fabulous place to stay. We had a one night room on our road trip to upper peninsula. This place was so unique. Beautiful room and the owners were so pleasant to talk to. The lobby was set so nice in the Christmas theme. I brought my own traveling Christmas tree and lighted garland with us too. The room was clean and brought us down memory lane with the furniture and color decor.
LOVE LOVE LOVED The Sierra! Husband and I were vacationing all around Michigan and The Sierra was our favorite place that we stayed. The owners clearly put a lot of effort and thought into the renovations because the decor was beyond adorable without going so far as to feel like a spoof of the 50’s. Room was comfortable and the cleanest we encountered in our travels. I will 100% choose to stay here again next time we’re in town.
