Located near Traverse City's center, The Vic by Kasa offers spacious rooms with contemporary decor and comfortable beds, but guests frequently report poor soundproofing and inconsistent issues with responsiveness. Despite occasional maintenance glitches and minimal on-site staffing, positive reviews highlight superior guest service and pet-friendliness.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Vic. We had brought our dog. The hotel was a block from the water, so it was very enjoyable to walk our dog! I'm very particular about pillows...the pillows were fluffy and easy to change shapes to mold my head for a great sleep There was someone at the front desk that was very courteous and helpful. We will definitely stay here again!
?I cannot thank Miranda at The Vic enough for turning a stressful situation around and allowing us to check in early. After a very rough few days and dealing with some significant issues at the Days Inn, I was finally able to get here with the help of a friend. What a world of difference! ?Finding a truly pet-friendly place that is actually nice and understanding can be a challenge, but so far this stay has been a breath of fresh air. Miranda was incredibly warm and welcoming from the moment we arrived, which helped me feel at ease immediately. ?My dogs have finally calmed down and are no longer constantly on guard like they were before. I even had to give Phoebe a shower, and she absolutely loved the blow-dryer! It’s such a relief to be in a space where we all feel safe and comfortable for the night. ?I’m hopeful that after tomorrow, I’ll have a more permanent spot for us, but for now, I am so grateful for the kindness and the quality of this stay. If you are traveling with pets in Traverse City, this is the place to be. ??
This is a tough one. My family of 4 stayed at The Vic in the off-season and it is worth noting that the price paid was seemingly well below market. So perhaps this is simply a case of getting what you pay for. The interior of the complex is beautiful on the surface. Modern and well appointed. Gorgeous lobby where a receptionist would sit if said receptionist existed. There's a nice stone fireplace void of fire with a TV mounted alongside playing "a fire" on a loop. A just metaphor for The Vic, actually. During our stay at The Vic there never seemed to be more than five other rooms rented. Unfortunately, we five or less were always clustered on top or besides each other. Sadly, I've never stayed anywhere with floors and walls so thin. While we were loading in our downstairs neighbor banged on the ceiling for the first time. Shortly after came the second and third times. I immediately contacted "the text" which is the sole means of communication and asked to be moved. We'd been in the room 30 mins. The downstairs neighbor eventually came banging on our door. Multiple attempts were made via "the text" and they conveyed the seriousness of the situation. I eventually met with the upset neighbor and due to our having a special needs son who was making the noise he said he would try to ignore it. We walked on eggshells for 24hrs. Eventually we did get a response from "the text", about 20 hours after me initially reaching out. They told me and my family not to worry about the trouble neighbor because he's "leaving today". Essentially the waited out our complaint. Nevermind the disruption our downstairs neighbor was experiencing. So yeah, The Vic is cheap. Keep your expectations as low as the price. The service once checked in essentially doesn't exist. There is no staff onsite with the exception of an occasion cleaning crew who are unable to assist with anything.
Best deal in TC! A seemingly brand-new hotel, The Vic was very clean with modern decor. Self Check-in was a breeze. Rooms are spacious (we had the King Suite) and the bed is to die for! We will definitely book here again (or maybe splurge for the Kasa Boardwalk downtown. We did some recon on that while there and it looked Amazing! Right across the street from the Thirsty Fish and a block from Front st!)
All around great and distinctive service guest experience support and professional clean organized great home like BnB atmosphere would recommend and refer others gladly. Web and home page nice but would suggest a more user friendly navigation within the browser links and support and question topics. Having real person live support vs AI generated sometimes whenove agent not present was obvious. Having a live agent is always better PR and guest service support vitally important .otherwise great staff from Miranda building property manager to support guest services and maintenance and room detail all cordial and perfect with friendly quiet atmosphere !! Would gladly recommend and refer again to others! Wayne W. Traverse City former Seattle and Bellingham WA guest State of Michigan native resident !!
My husband and I drove up to traverse city for the weekend and stayed at the Vic for one night. As soon as we opened the door to our room, a large piece of wood came unattached from the wall above the door and almost fell on us. If it wasn’t attached to the metal hinge that keeps the door from slamming, it would have fallen on us. I went downstairs to the front desk to get help and the front desk agent was nice, but she brought a screwdriver up and just unscrewed the wood from the hinge (as my husband helped her after driving 4 hours…), and then took the piece of wood out of the room. We didn’t get a new room. If we had arrived later, I don’t know what would have happened because no one would’ve been at the front desk. The door was extremely difficult to get open and it did not close fully unless you slammed it hard, so I left the room open on accident because I didn’t even realize the door hadn’t closed fully. The bathtub filled with water even when the drain was open. The bathroom smelled strongly of mildew. There was also red paint on the bathtub. The location was clearly something like a Best Western or Motel 6 that had been renovated to be more modern. I love the idea, and the aesthetics of the place were okay…but the execution was very poor. It was cheaply and I’m guessing quickly renovated, and it shows. I will say the price was reasonable, parking was easy, and getting access to the room was also very easy. The location is good too. However, overall, I do not recommend staying here.
The check in process was quite smooth, and the building itself was easy to navigate. Very nice entry area and common room. The room was clean, simple, tastefully furnished, was NOT fully carpeted which was great and felt so much more lux than a Best Western or whatever. Nice bathroom, firm bed, etc. The only small critique I have is that the gym was very small, but this wasn’t a deal breaker by any means. Overall, a great place to stay!
When booking, I was definitely hesitant about the lack of human interaction and the use of technology to verify my identity. In the end it was fine, and our stay was pleasant. The hotel when compared to others is much less personal, industrial, almost…the rooms are contemporary but the bottled water and Great Lakes chips were a nice touch. The body wash pump didn’t work in the shower but because there wasn't a human to ask, I didn’t bother texting the number for something so trivial. The bed was wonderful, the pillows were equally so. The price can’t be beat anywhere in the city and we’ll be returning for our next visit.
This was one of the best weather weekends I've ever experienced in Traverse City. I loved the hotel! The bed was one of the most comfortable hotel beds I’ve ever slept on, and the pillows were fantastic too. The shower products were excellent as well. My only suggestion would be to add fridges in the rooms with freezers, as many travelers have freezer packs with no place to store them. However, I booked the trip two months in advance, and the price dropped three days after I booked. When I contacted Kasa, they said they couldn’t honor the lower price due to their no-cancellation policy and would require a new reservation. It was a disappointing customer service experience, especially during a time when people are struggling with rising costs. This should have been handled better. I will be back again. The place was cleaned, smelled new and great location.
