We have camped at Timber Ridge for a couple years now and had great experiences in the past. This year we did not and will not return because of it. We started off our four day weekend by finding out that the pool would not be open. We decide to check out the lake for swimming to find out that all of the lake activities are not yet set up for the year. So our weekend of water fun was out the window. This campground was not cheap and we paid those prices expecting to be able to use all of the amenities that are advertised, yet were unable to use ANY of them. It would have been nice to know ahead of time so that we at least did not have a large group of disappointed children who had been looking forward to these things. At 11pm sharp we are told we need to be extra quiet for quiet hours because the campground is empty and voices travel. We were not blasting music, we were not belligerently shouting, we were simply sitting around a campfire laughing. In fact, we had a sleeping infant with us who was never once awoken by our noise level. And if the campground is so empty, who exactly were we disturbing by laughing? Kids activities go until 10pm. By the time the kids are done and in bed that gives adults about 30 minutes to enjoy their alone time before being repeatedly harassed for laughing too loudly. We were able to see the security truck parked at the end of our road watching/listening to us until we gave up on being allowed to relax and went inside to watch TV. So much for a campfire. Following this, we were woken up at 5am to the sounds of construction and moving equipment. Are the quiet hours only for the paying campers? Or what time do they end? I’d like to believe more people are trying to sleep at 5am than 11pm on a weekend at a campground. We also tried to do a nap mid day and there was concrete being cut at the site next door to us. To top off our experience, another camper in our group was bitten by a dog and then verbally accosted by the dog owner, profanities included, (in front of a group of children) for having been on an electric scooter. Electric scooters are allowed in the camp ground, aggressive dogs are not. Upon bringing this to the office’s attention, we were told to “let them know if we see them again”. Shouldn’t this be the campground’s responsibility? To find this camper and remove the aggressive dog from their premises? Aren’t dogs registered on campsite booking to make this easy to narrow down (especially when the campground is ‘empty’ according to security)? There are children on bikes and scooters all over this campground, we would like to believe that having any of them attacked by a dog would be a larger concern than our 11pm laughing. However, nothing was ever done, the dog and owner remained on site for the remainder of our stay. Due to this we once again had to disappoint our children by no longer letting them go for bike or scooter rides. At this point our kids cannot ride bikes, cannot ride scooters, cannot swim in the pool, cannot use lake equipment, yet we have paid over $200 for this stay. Aren’t those activities the bulk of what is advertised by this campground? The icing on the cake for our very expensive and very disappointing weekend was the bathroom cleanliness. The women’s bathroom consistently for four days straight had two out of four toilets over filled and clogged. We will not be returning and we would never suggest this campground to others. Save the money and go to a campground that prioritizes their campers’ experience as well as safety.

This campground has it all! Clean bathrooms and showers, friendly staff, lodge fully stocked with candy and necessities, and a beautiful property. Themed weekends are the best. We never have to wonder what to do with the kids between the pool, lake, crafts, parades, candy cannon, dodgeball, etc, etc. We come back every year!

First time visitor, I understand that this is a full season resort but it definitely was behind on a cleanup for a Memorial Day opening. Need a crew to blow some of the fall leaves away, pick up some of the tree debris, cleanup and haul away all of the broken up concrete, and get ready for the new season. They appeared to be short staffed especially in the store.

Absolutely the best RV park we’ve ever been to. It’s very clean, staff is so nice and welcoming. So happy the my husband chose this place to spend our 30 yr anniversary!

Flannel and lumberjack event was terrible. VIP experience was a bust IMHO. I got a couple extra drink tickets, a lame tent, and a bathroom. I also got to be in there an hour early. I would have just gotten general admission and paid the extra bucks if I wanted the drinks. But I didn't cause there was only 3 breweries, 1 cider, and 2 distilleries. One of which didn't set up till 2 hours into the event. 100 a person then another 10 to park? What a slap in the face. Was really looking forward to this, to then see such an empty venue was very frustrating.

We chose this place for a girls weekend but we aren't campers, so wanted to rent a park model. The website doesn't let you view the details of the unit you want to rent. They assign the unit to you based on the category you choose. If you try to call you leave a message which results in phone tag. We chose one that sleeps 5-7 people for $240/night but we were so thankful that only 2 of us ended up being able to come. 4 would not have been able to sit on the couch, or fit at the dining table. The two of us weren't very comfortable. The mattresses in the loft were ok, but getting bags up the steep steps was a challenge, and for the price we wouldn't choose this again.

Good location, just a few minutes from Traverse City. Real stickers about check in time. We wanted to check in an hour early, but they said no, but for a fee, we could. Then, when we arrived, we were asked to go to our site and check in later because they were too busy. The sites are big enough, our fire pit was about 8 feet from site edge, so not roomy. The sites are dirt, with gravel drives. Kept the vacuum busy. We had a little rain, so as expected, it stuck to your shoes. Lots to do for the kids. 2nd year for us to enjoy the Halloween celebration. A number of craft activities and an Excellent Haunted House! Trick or treating thru the park. Bike trails RC car park Walking Close to trails Cornhole. 2 main bath houses serve the park, You must PAY to shower. Good security Feel safe for the kids to go to playground. We will return.

Stayed here for a long weekend with family. Overall the park itself is beautiful and well maintained, I enjoyed all the art installations through out. As a young couple, no kids and a dog we typically stay at state parks. We picked this park for our nieces (they loved it) with all the actives provided, but was also looking forward to more of a luxury experience for the adults too! However, part of my luxury experience is a hot shower after a long day. You have to pay for hot water in the bathhouse (which is fine), but it only ever gets luke-warm. Katie at the front desk was super kind and helpful with my concerns, and did offer the suggestion to run the sink first, which did help, but wasn’t HOT! Also, pretty annoying that you always get the answering machine when you call the park (even during hours of operation.) Having access to washer/dryer and the campground store was super convenient! It was hard to plan ahead with what to expect for the Halloween weekend, as the schedule didn’t come out till the week before, and things were missing off the schedule. The adult Haunted House was better than expected! Overall, very cool park, Katie was helpful, but for the price per night things could be more organized as a whole to truly be considered luxury!

Large campground with full service and nice facilities. There are playgrounds for the kids and a man made small square lake with beach all around. We had a full hookup site. It is 25 minutes to the bike trail in Traverse.

The best campground around! We had a few concerns during our stay that were promptly addressed. My kids love the amenities although wish they had more activities during the week! We are return cabin campers and will continue to be ? thanks for having a great place for continuing memories
