We can't speak highly enough about our stay here. The grounds are impeccable and although we didn't have children or dogs along the playground areas and private fenced dog enclosure was par excellence. Then we ran into an emergency situation late Saturday where our powered awning came apart at one end. I'm handicapped and my wife just had her shoulder replaced. I called the after hours number to see if they had an 8 ft step ladder since we couldn't retract the awning. Within 5 minutes Dewey and Dawn showed up and 20 minutes later it's fixed and retracted. I can't thank them enough for their caring attentiveness to our situation. They are the epitome of excellent people. If you're looking for an incredible location catering to families and pets make a point to stay here. You will be more than pleased
Came after pool area was closed but looks like a fun area for Summer. Rented a deluxe cabin w bathroom. Fantastic. Clean. Bed was actually very comfortable (a nice surprise). Campground clean. Nice big pull thru sites. Jumping pillows, big chess and checkers, cute photo op areas.
We had a great week here. It was easy access to the Sleeping Bear Sand dunes NS, close to Traverse city for needs, and small towns with food options. The KOA had lots of fun kid activities during the stay, mini golf for free, pool, jump pad, and any RC course ! Ice, firewood and pizza can be delivered to to your site. Trash pickup up every morning. We had a great stay.
We stay at KOA for the amenities. Yes, it’s more pricey than some parks but we like that we know what to expect from KOA. We stayed in one of the new pull through full hook up sites, it was spacious but not shady. They planted new trees so some shade will come. The pool is nice. They only have one shower house, I think they plan to add another but it’s not built yet. The showers were clean and the laundry was convenient. The pool was fantastic. We enjoyed the free mini golf. Definitely go eat at Patty Cakes!
Absolutely amazing experience. They are so accommodating here! They have someone take you to your campsite when you first arrive, they take your trash, clean out your fire pit, deliver fire wood and pizza and other things. The store is awesome, kids LOVED the train and foam party. I love that they send you texts reminding you of upcoming events. This place was so well maintained, clean, quiet, and the other campers were kind and respectful. My husband and I agreed this will be one of our go-to camping spots every year.
This is by far one of the best KOA campgrounds we have ever stayed at. Beautiful site. Clean facilities. And the staff was amazing. The best part was their maintenance man Richard. He was super friendly and treated my children with kindness and made the days fun. Super helpful and just an awesome dude. You have to stay here if you are in the Traverse city area. Thanks again for a wonderful vacation.
Nice location very little shade and WiFi sucks. Be prepared to bring your own WiFi.. Employees are nice but little or no communication with company that owns it. They put in new camping sites and apparently they were designed by people who have never camped. They about doubled the size of the campground but no new amenities. You are about 1/2 hour from traverse city sleeping bear dunes and etc. pool is small and unheated no hot tub. At the end of the day I enjoy being there. Sites are not big and again mostly dirt and mostly level. I would ask for a shaded lot away from the highway. I was by the highway once and the noise was not enjoyable. The campground would be great if the WiFi worked had more shade and if they added another pool or offered more amenities. The campground seems like a money grab from a company who counts beans and I doubt if anyone at the company has ever camped. The employees are nice and helpful but seem afraid to ask the parent company for help. This could be a great campground just needs some help from someone who has been to several campgrounds. The campground needs to stop posting fake reviews of the campground from other people who definitely have never camped. I gave it 3 stars due to location and friendly employees.
We had a great stay at the KOA in Traverse City! The campground is clean, well-run, and in a perfect location for exploring the area. The sites were spacious and well maintained, and we appreciated how quiet it was in the evenings. Also, the new upgrades to the campground are a welcomed upgrade! The kids loved the pool and the jumping pillow, and there were plenty of activities to keep them busy while we relaxed around the fire. The staff was friendly and helpful, making sure we had everything we needed during our stay. The pizza delivery has been a nice addition this trip! Bathrooms and showers were clean, and the camp store was well stocked with anything we forgot. We also enjoyed how close it was to downtown Traverse City, Sleeping Bear Dunes, and the local wineries. Highly recommend this KOA if you’re looking for a family-friendly, comfortable base to explore northern Michigan. We look forward to staying again on our next trip up!
