We fell in love with Wayfarer Lodgings on our first visit many years ago. So much so we have returned multiple times every year. From our favorite chosen cottage we take a daily stroll through the expansive meadow and down a staircase to, what at times, is our own private beach on the shores of Lake Michigan. Our two hosts Mike & Iris, both characters in their own right, are a hoot! After each visit we can't wait to return to what we consider our own private "Hideaway"!

Our visit to Wayfarer was everything we hoped for and more. I am writing this review purely to express to the owners Iris & Mike just how much we loved the property, the cottage (The Hummingbird) and its perfect location. The entire place is so charming, the cottage was very clean, the owners are the loveliest couple ever, and we soaked up every bit of this relaxing spot as much as we could. We loved making breakfast while the morning sun came in through the open screen door, enjoying the green space out front, and sleeping with the windows open to catch the Lake Michigan breezes. We hated to leave! Everything about it was great. Thank you so much for hosting us, and for maintaining such a beautiful piece of northern michigan history ? we will absolutely be back.

Beautiful setting, mature trees and lovely meadow. The cottages are cute and comfy, we had a well stocked kitchenette. Roaming Hens are fun to watch before sunset! Came back recently, still a wonderful place to stay! Loved my cottage, the Hummingbird. Clean and comfortable, had everything you could ask for. Location is especially good for me as I like to hike and beach walk.

Amazing place to stay in Frankfort/Elberta area. Iris is an amazing host and has free EV charging for over night guests. Definitely coming back!

We had a fantastic weekend staying here! The cabin was comfortable, the water was hot, the property was beautiful and the owners were very friendly! Extra bonus was the two EV chargers on-site. Woke up each morning to a fully charged vehicle which made it very easy to explore the region. We’ll definitely be back!

We had a perfect weekend getaway at Wayfarer. We stayed in the Robin cabin. Perfect size for two people. There's no AC but it was nice and cool at night with the ceiling fan on and windows open. The property is walking distance to a great beach, and we rode our bikes into town. It's a quick 2.8 mile ride. Owners could not have been more lovely. They definitely take pride in their property. It felt like we were staying at a B&B in that regard. We plan to go back and stay longer next time.
